Oran: MECHANICA ALGERIA Exhibition, a Platform to Strengthen Industrial Subcontracting and Economic Partnerships
"The city of Oran is hosting, from February 10 to 12, 2026, the first edition of MECHANICA ALGERIA, an exhibition dedicated to mechanical industries, subcontracting, and spare parts, held under the high patronage of the Minister of Industry, serving as a platform to strengthen industrial integration and economic partnerships."
Under the high patronage of the Minister of Industry, Mr. Yahia Bachir, the city of Oran hosted, from February 10 to 12, 2026, the first edition of MECHANICA ALGERIA, an exhibition dedicated to mechanical industries, subcontracting, and spare parts, held at the Mohamed Ben Ahmed Conference Center.

The exhibition represents a major industrial and economic event aligned with the national vision aimed at developing the industrial base and strengthening industrial integration and subcontracting, particularly in the automotive industry, spare parts, accessories, and components sectors. This initiative is in line with the directives of the country’s top authorities to promote productive investment and build a strong and competitive national industry.

The event witnessed broad participation from national and international industrial companies, economic operators, investment support institutions, professional associations, and specialized experts. It provided a suitable framework for establishing partnerships and subcontracting agreements between vehicle manufacturers and local subcontractors, especially in the field of spare parts and accessories.

The exhibition program included technical workshops and specialized sessions addressing key strategic themes, such as the development of local industrial subcontracting, compliance and accreditation mechanisms for subcontractors within supply chains, the role of universities and scientific research in supporting industrial integration, as well as opportunities for industrial partnerships and the creation of integrated value chains. Business-to-business (B2B) meetings were also organized throughout the event.

The official opening of the exhibition took place on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, in the presence of the Governor of Oran, Mr. Ibrahim Weshan. In a message addressed to participants and delivered on his behalf by the Director of Industry of Oran Province, the Minister of Industry emphasized that the organization of this exhibition is part of the national strategy to build a sovereign and competitive industry capable of diversifying the national economy, reducing dependence on foreign markets, and creating wealth and employment.

The Minister highlighted that the mechanical industries sector is a strategic choice for Algeria, given its pivotal role in strengthening industrial integration, supporting national subcontracting, and building genuine value chains produced domestically. He stressed that the exhibition serves as a working and partnership platform to promote national capabilities, increase local integration rates, and encourage productive investment through balanced partnerships based on technology transfer and skills development.

In the evening program, a panel discussion entitled “Subcontracting and Industrial Integration: Challenges, Opportunities, and Prospects” was held, focusing on ways to enhance industrial subcontracting and raise local integration levels in line with the strategic orientations of the industrial sector
